Since its establishment in 2012, the International Association of Orthokeratology Asia (IAOA) has held more than 60 training courses and professional academic conferences in optometry, with up to 15 thousand participants**. Training and assessments include: basic training classes, improvement classes, senior member of the International Society of Orthokeratology Asia (SIAOA) exam, and senior member of the International Society of Orthokeratology (FIAO) exam.

Basic class: Open for all ophthalmology and ophthalmology professionals. Those who attend and pass the IAOA basic class assessment will be awarded the IAOA basic training completion certificate. Currently, nearly three members have passed the assessment.

Improvement classes: IAOA improvement classes are set up 4 times a year, and the number of participants is limited to 40-60 people. It is opened for all ophthalmology and ophthalmology professionals. Those who participate in the conference and pass the IAOA improvement class assessment will be awarded IAOA improvement training completion certificates. And can apply to participate in the senior member of the International Society of Orthokeratology Asia (SIAOA) exam.

SIAOA exam: once a year, held at the end of the year. The SIAOA exam is taught in small classes with a limit of 40-60 people. The SIOA exam is very strict. Participants can pass the exam through strict case review, written examination and defense. Those who pass the SIOA exam will be awarded the SIOA senior member certificate and can apply for participation. International Society of Orthokeratology (FIAO) examination, currently there are 26 senior members of International Society of Orthokeratology Asia (SIAOA);

FIAO exam: every March, during the COOC meeting. The examination is extremely strict. The annual limit of 10 people in China is required to complete general admission training, examination, and qualification review. Members with certain clinical experience will participate and pass the IAOA improvement training and SIOA examination. Finally, they are recommended to participate in FIAO training and assessment. The assessment requires a rigorous written test and case defense. Those who participate in the conference and pass the FIAO assessment will be awarded the International Society of Orthokeratology (FIAO) certificate. Currently, the total number of senior members of the International Society of Orthokeratology (FIAO) in China is 17.
