·The University of Sheffield

Sheffield University, also translated as "Sheffield University", is one of the top 100 universities in the world and one of the top universities in Britain. The school is located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. Its history can be traced back to 1828. It is one of the six famous red brick universities in Britain.


As a famous university with a history of 100 years, Sheffield University has cultivated 6 Nobel Prize winners. The University of Sheffield is one of the world-class research universities with the most international reputation among many famous universities in the UK. It is a member of the World University Alliance, Russell university group, white rose University Alliance, N8 University Alliance, European University Association (EUA) and Commonwealth University Association (ACU).


The University of Sheffield ranks 12th in the UK in the official ranking of UK universities' scientific research strength published every seven years in ref 2014. [2] It ranks the top 50 in the internationalization degree of higher education world universities in the times of 2019; it ranks 93rd in 2021qs world universities; and the comprehensive ranking of the four major world universities in 2020 is in the top 150 in the world. There are 18 disciplines occupying the top 100 in the world: Library and information degree ranks second in the world; architecture, development science, archaeology, geography and civil engineering rank among the top 50 in the world.


Sheffield University was awarded the Queen's Medal of the year five times in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2007 and 2020. It was also named "University of the year" by the Sunday Times in 2001 and "University of the year" by times higher education in 2011.


In 2012, the school of management of the University of Sheffield was awarded AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS, which symbolizes the world's top business schools.
