Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, formerly known as Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was founded in 1956. It was one of the earliest four Chinese medicine colleges and universities established under the approval of the State Council under the kind care of the first generation of leaders of the party and the country such as Zhou Enlai, 1995 In 2006, it was renamed Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine approved by the State Education Commission. In 2006, the former Sichuan Provincial College of Health Management and Sichuan College of Reproductive Health were merged into Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
